Established in 1949, the Boxing Federation of India has been the cornerstone of amateur boxing development in the country. Our mission is to promote, develop, and regulate the sport of boxing in India from the grassroots to the elite level, ensuring fair play, integrity, and the holistic development of every boxer.
We oversee all aspects of the sport, including athlete registration, coach education, referee certification, national team selection, and the organization of premier domestic competitions like the National Boxing Championships, National Games boxing events, and various inter-state tournaments. The BFI is also responsible for selecting and managing the Indian contingent for international competitions such as the Olympic Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, and Asian Championships.
Our administrative headquarters in New Delhi serves as the central hub for strategic planning, athlete support services, and international liaison. The federation operates through a network of affiliated State/UT units, ensuring a unified and standardized approach to boxing development across the nation's diverse landscape.
